| "View From Above"
"It's a thrilling adventure to stand on
a cliff side overlooking the rolling surf far below. This 'view from
above' will remain a favorite location on each journey to the sea."
ARTIST COMMENT This is what I viewed as I stood near the edge of a very high cliff on the Oregon Coast at the Lighthouse at Yaquina Head. It was a lovely sunny day. As the waves broke into lacey patterns of floating foam, the water became a soft seafoam green with the integration of that foam with the churning water below the surface of the sea. As wave after wave surged in, I memorized the scene and when I returned to my studio, painted this small oil on stretched canvas as a quick study. It was one of those magical things that infrequently present themselves, and the study was, itself, a finished piece. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
