"It is a wonderfully warm summer day on the Pacific shoreline. The sun lights up rocks, trees, and waves, as you walk the beach at a 'ten o'clock tide'."
ARTIST COMMENT
Choosing a title for a painting can be a formidable challenge. (How many "Sunset Glow" paintings can there be?) In this painting, when the composition was determined, the next step was to decide what time of day I would portray. I selected the color scheme and then the light source. As the painting progressed, the scene suggested itself as a mid-morning with, perhaps, the tide turning. "Ten-O'Clock Tide" seemed to have a nice rhythm to it. It is also quite accurate for the west coast at that time of day with the sunlight at the angle seen in this painting.
