| "Ten O'Clock Tide"
"It is a wonderfully warm summer day on the Pacific shoreline. The sun lights up rocks, trees, and waves, as you walk the beach at a 'ten o'clock tide'."
ARTIST COMMENT Choosing a title for a painting can be a formidable challenge. (How many "Sunset Glow" paintings can there be?) In this painting, when the composition was determined, the next step was to decide what time of day I would portray. I selected the color scheme and then the light source. As the painting progressed, the scene suggested itself as a mid-morning with, perhaps, the tide turning. "Ten-O'Clock Tide" seemed to have a nice rhythm to it. It is also quite accurate for the west coast at that time of day with the sunlight at the angle seen in this painting. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
