| "Storm Approaching"
"Can you feel the excitement in the air?
Can you imagine the fury of wind lashed waves? Soon these imaginings will
become reality over the ocean as you retreat to safety to watch the 'storm
approaching'."
ARTIST COMMENT On the northern reaches of the Washington coastline, the sandy beaches give way to towering cliffs and offshore stack rocks. I was priveledged to spend time strolling the shoreline there just as a late season storm began to build far out to sea. The wind whipped waves rolled in and crashed agaist the rocks and headlands with the translucencies shining in vivid blue-green. I made a quick sketch of the scene in my small journal along with color notes, to paint later in my studio. I used stretched canvas for this rather large painting.
