"As though on cue, the sun is breaking through the clouds of an afternoon storm on the edge of the sea. At precisely the moment of the peak of the wave, a ray of sunshine spotlights the back of the wave and lights up the translucency with a glow of color."

 
Artist comment:  "This painting is a result of a wonderful moment in time when, as I watched the turbulent surf, the sun broke through a stormy sky and spotlighted an ocean wave just as it crested and broke into a spillover. I reached for my camera and waited for the next occurance so I could record it forever, but it did not happen like that again! Later in my studio, I painted the memory of that exciting scene."

"Spotlight" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is April 2009.  Image size and substrates vary.  All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

"Spotlight" ACEO Triptych

"Spotlight" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” triptych giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.   Image sizes are 3 1/2” X 2 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO).   Release date is April 2009. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks.  The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO triptych is signed by the artist, includes signed certificates of authenticity, and is packaged in plastic sleeves for protection.
