| "Empire Rocks"
"As the sun climbs to its zenith over the Pacific Northwest Coast, the ever changing tides continue to pound relentlessly upon the rocks jutting out of the sea, sending spray mounting high into the crisp salty air. These are typical rocks of the vast Northwestern coastal empire."
ARTIST COMMENT I enjoy painting in other than standard shapes and sizes. As the composition presents itself to me, I will have a canvas stretched to correspond with my vision of what the scene should be. In this oil painting, the offshore rocks and long rolling wave, lengthen out across the scene to show the full beauty of the rising breaker as it approaches the shore. The blues and greens of the water and sky are natural and typical of a sunny afternoon in the Pacific Northwest. As your eye follows the wave from one side to the other, you can grasp the essence of the magnificent reach of the forever sea. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
