To suggest the shimmering glow of the sun, the edges of that area in the painting were diffused and blended into the surrounding clouds. The nearly white, bright yellow was used to stimulate optical messages of heat, brightness and glare. The "cooler" surrounding oranges and pinks intensify this luminosity. |
