| "Looking From Ecola"
"Haystack Rock and The Needles are seen here in panorama from Ecola Park north of Cannon Beach, Oregon, U.S.A. The sky is blue, the water is deep and ruffled with lacy ribbons of white foam. See the beach back there? How about taking the time to fly a kite?"
ARTIST COMMENT This small oil on stretched canvas, was painted from my memory after visiting Ecola Park north of Cannon Beach, Oregon. The well photographed, and popular artist's subject, Haystack Rock, dominates the scene. It was a vividly clear summer day. Because the setting is so stark and bold in color, I rendered the rock in deep brown and rich green. The flow of surging water reflects the intense blue of the sky, making the floating white foam all the more brilliant across the bottom of the composition.
