| "Morning Fog Lifting"
"The morning fog is lifting on a typical day at Cannon Beach, Oregon, U.S.A. Although it is grey now, when the sun rises higher, the clouds will part and you will be able to enjoy a lovely sunny day on the beach."
ARTIST COMMENT Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon, is one of the most photographed and painted tourist spots on the coast. The monolith is quite visible for many miles along the coastal highway, inviting travelers to stop and gaze. This is one of a series of watercolor paintings on 140# hot-pressed top quality paper, that I did of this awesome rock. The mood is one of early morning before the fog has dissipated, yet light enough for the warm sand to begin to glow. I contrasted the purple-blue of the cloudy sky with the dark brown in the rock, and lavender grey sand on the wet beach. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
