| "Another Sunset"
"The sky is glowing with the radiant colors of 'another sunset' on the Oregon coast, near Cannon Beach. People stroll and admire the tranquility of the approaching evening."
ARTIST COMMENT One glorious evening, I observed the sunset at Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon, as I had not before seen it. The clouds were lit up in bands of color, nearly rainbow-like in appearance. The huge monolith loomed against the vivd sky. I quickly sketched the scene, and made color notes of the beauty unfolding before my eyes. Other people on the beach, also, seemed captivated by the magnificence. They paused in their strolling and beachcombing to watch one of the most memorable sunsets, here-to-fore unequaled. Later in my studio, I reproduced from my notes, this small watercolor on Arches 140# hot-pressed watercolor paper. To learn more about the artist "painting the sea", please click here.
