"A lone seagull stands above a conveyor belt at the ‘Jolly Roger’ oyster processing plant on an ‘oyster watch’.”
Artist comment: "In Nahcotta, Washington on Willapa Bay, is the Jolly Roger oyster company. A fleet of five oyster boats keeps things busy on a daily basis. I was intrigued by the rusty ‘boom’ in contrast to the black shiny, greased chain. Rust is one of my favorite things to paint and pastel is my favorite medium to paint it. I began with an abstract background, then did the rusty boom and dark conveyor belt. Next I painted the black wheels and chain, finishing with the curious seagull. The falling oyster shells were the finishing touch.” |

"Oyster Watch" is a limited edition, giclée
print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson. The edition
includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered
and 100 artist proofs). Release date is December 2011. Image size and substrates
vary.
All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity. Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.
Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.
