"If you stand quite still you will have the chance to watch a great blue heron slowly and gracefully move through the shallows of a pond or rock lined waterway, it's reflections wavering across the surface."

 
Artist comment:  "A Great Blue Heron stands regal and elegant, as it patiently watches for an opportunity to select a morsel from the shallows. This is a large oil painting that I did from photographs and sketches researched at the boat launch in south west Ilwaco alongside the jetty. I had to work quickly before the magnificent bird raised its large wings and slowly flew away to a place less public. In my studio, I painted a 60" X 30" linen canvas with traditional oil. I loved the challenge to portray the bird and its 'wavering' double."

"Heron Reflections" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is April 2010.  Image size and substrates vary.  All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

Heron Reflections ACEO

"Heron Reflections" ACEO

"Heron Reflections" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” diptych giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.   Image sizes are 3 1/2” X 2 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO).   Release date is April 2010. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks.  The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO diptych is signed by the artist, includes signed certificates of authenticity, and is packaged in plastic sleeves for protection.
