"A group of interesting seagulls has gathered on the beach of the Pacific Coast. They are Heermann’s gulls on the sand.”

Artist comment:  "This composition composed itself when a group of Heermann’s gulls paused and looked up as I approached with my camera. These visitors to the north coast of Washington State are unique in that they are all grey on their bodies with a pure white head. The juveniles are mottled like the common gull. The original is a pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes paper. I completed the background, then rendered the birds in realistic detail."

"Heermann's On The Sand" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is January 2011.  Image size and substrates vary.   All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.
