| Artist comment:
"A resting cormorant setting on a piling in the harbor of Brookings, Oregon, was a delightful subject to paint in soft pastel. The challenge was to portray an almost black bird, silhouetted against a grey sky, and still infuse the painting with color. The sky is fresh morning blue, contrasted with the aging moss covered piling. Finally the touch of gold of the beak focuses attention to the center of interest, the lively gaze of the cormorant. I chose 140# hot pressed watercolor paper to allow me to paint feathers and other elements in great detail. |

"Cormorant" is a limited edition, giclée
print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson. The edition
includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered
and 100 artist proofs). Release date is September 2002. Image size and substrates
vary.
All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity. Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board. Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

"Cormorant" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” giclée print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson. Image size is 3 1/2” X 2 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO). Release date is September 2002. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks. The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints. This ACEO is signed by the artist, includes a signed certificate of authenticity, and is packaged in a plastic sleeve for protection.
