| "North Head Lighthouse"
"Because of a dramatic increase in the number
of shipwrecks along the Long Beach, Washington Peninsula, this sixty-five
foot sentinel was erected in 1898 as a companion to the beacon at Cape
Disappointment. It bears an automated aero-marine lamp. The area is a favorite
of fishermen and tourists the year round."
