ARTIST COMMENT
 "The Point Cabrillo Lighthouse is located north of  Mendocino, California.  This one story diminutive lighthouse is situated high above the surface of the ocean, and thus shines her light far out to sea.  I have been to this location many times, and always find inspiration in the remote, romantic scenery of the lighthouse and her surroundings.  I chose to paint this sunny day in gouache, to emphasize the warmth and luminosity of the setting.  Gouache has a quality of softness that lends itself to the notion of the beacon guiding mariners safely through treacherous waters."
