Artist comment:  "On the beach in Miami, Florida, while attending a kite flying convention, my husband flew this pretty little delta shaped kite named by the manufacturer as the Wasp. It is aptly named. As it zips through the air the back edges flutter in the wind and create a buzzing sound like an angry wasp. I like the contrast of the warm tones of the kite against the cool blues and greens of the ocean and the grey cloudy sky."

"The Wasp" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is February 2009.  Image size and substrates vary.  All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

The Wasp ACEO

"The Wasp" ACEO

"The Wasp" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson.   Image size is 2 1/2” X 3 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO).   Release date is February 2009. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks.  The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO is signed by the artist, includes a signed certificate of authenticity, and is packaged in a plastic sleeve for protection.
