"Joel Scholz created this 4' 'pop art' wasp. Recording tape stretched the length of the bar at the back of the kite creates a buzzing sound, as the 'humming wasp' dances in the summer wind."

 
Artist comment:  "While traveling to the many kite festivals and conventions, I spent time in Florida, where there were many innovative and beautiful kites. I was especially impressed by this one that was made to represent a wasp. With the many edges catching the wind it sounded like it was humming. To recapture the 'hot' pink color, I used model paint which worked well and won't fade or change with time."

"Humming Wasp" ACEO

"Humming Wasp" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson. Image size is 3 1/2” X 2 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO). Release date is March 2009. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks. The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO is signed by the artist, includes a signed certificate of authenticity, and is packaged in a plastic sleeve for protection.
