| "Mixed Pansies"
"The pansy is a hardy, 'happy' little jewel that can brighten even the darkest, barest corner of yard or garden. Equally at home in pot or plot, the Pansy loves it's companions and delights the eye of the beholder."
ARTIST'S COMMENTS "Aren't they delightful? Pansies mixed in an exhuberant display of vivid hues delight the eye from spring to hard frost! It is as though they enjoy each other, and try to out-do one another in size, iridescence and proliferation. What better choice for an artist to manifest with watercolor. Here I used Arches 140# hot-pressed watercolor paper as my substrate, carefully sketching a pleasing composition, then designating the colors that complimented each other, as they occurred in nature. The sinuous transition of the line of flowers moves the eye in and around the painting." To learn more about the artist "painting florals", please click

Carol Thompson's personal garden is the subject of this series of watercolor paintings entitled "Carol's Garden". These florals are inspired by the many hours of pleasure received from working the rich soil, nurturing the seedlings, and admiring the fragrant blossoms. Her garden is her getaway, a place to clear her mind; to daydream, a place to get in touch with nature, and a place to think, plan, and just relax. |
