"Although this may not be the 'official' name of this gorgeous flower;  I feel the iris is the queen of all garden flowers and with it's purple color, it certainly deserves to be royalty."

 
Artist comment:  "For many years I grew irises in my Olympia, Washington garden.  I think this one was one of my favorites.  I wanted to portray the elegant beauty of her three perfect blooms, so I chose watercolor for its' quality of translucency.  My substrate was Arches 140# hot pressed watercolor paper."

"Royal Queen" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original watercolor painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is December 2009.  Image size and substrates vary.   All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

"Royal Queen" ACEO

"Royal Queen" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” giclée print from an original watercolor painting by Carol Thompson. Image size is 3 1/2” X 2 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO). Release date is December 2009. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks. The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO is signed by the artist, includes a signed certificate of authenticity, and is packaged in a plastic sleeve for protection.
