"Ringo And Friends"

"A group of tall bearded irises blend their colors and fragrances in beautiful harmony in a formal garden.  The lyrical floral display is nature's happy band of  'Ringo and friends'."

ARTIST COMMENT
"I am utterly enchanted by  irises.  To me they are the most graceful, yet flamboyant flowers of the late spring garden.  In this large painting, I have captured on 180#  hot-pressed watercolor paper,  a 'troupe' of divers stems of irises as they bend and sway with the caress of a gentle early summer breeze.  Perhaps they are dancing to the rhythm of some long-ago tune".  The composition was intended to show the one unique silvery blue blossom surrounded by a band of 'brothers'.  On each end, the outer iris bends toward the center of interest, further calling into play the 'friendship', suggested by the title.  This piece was a joy to paint,as I progressed from one flower to the next."

Carol Thompson's personal garden is the subject of this series of watercolor paintings entitled "Carol's Garden". These florals are inspired by the many hours of pleasure received from working the rich soil, nurturing the seedlings, and admiring the fragrant blossoms. Her garden is her getaway, a place to clear her mind; to daydream, a place to get in touch with nature, and a place to think, plan, and just relax.
