"Two delightful flowers signal the beginning of Spring. Bright yellow daffodils and deep blue scilla combine in this garden as if to greet you each day and cheer you on your way."

ARTIST COMMENT
Here is another in my "daffodil" series. I love the elegant; yet, sprightly look of Spring's early risers. This watercolor on Arches 140# hot-pressed watercolor paper, is an "X" style composition. The major focus is the upper left blossom, with the eye then following the placement of the flowers diagonally down from left to right. The deep blue of the scilla is repeated in the background, and lightened in the upper right quadrant as a refreshing "rest" from the hot yellow of the main subject. Each bloom is slightly different to keep the picture interesting visually.

These florals are inspired by the many hours of pleasure received from working the rich soil, nurturing the seedlings, and admiring the fragrant blossoms. Her garden is her getaway, a place to clear her mind; to daydream, a place to get in touch with nature, and a place to think, plan, and just relax.
