Artist comment:  "Centaurea is a 'cousin' of the always popular 'bachelors button'.  I found these fringed blue beauties a wonderful subject.  With watercolor on hot-pressed Arches 140# paper, I detailed the delicate petals against a dark impressionistic background.  The composition is a classic triangle of three flowers and three major greens for balance.  Although the painting is diminutive (7" X 5") it makes a powerful statement of nature's versatility."

The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs). Release date is September 2002. Image size and substrates vary. All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.

Centaurea ACEO

"Centaurea ACEO"

"Centaurea" is an “Art Cards, editions and originals (ACEO)” giclée print from an original watercolor painting by Carol Thompson. Image size is 3 1/2” X 2 1/2” (standard size for an ACEO). Release date is September 2002. This substrate is "Epson PremierArt Water Resistant Giclee Canvas", using Epson Ultrachrome K3 archival inks. The canvas has been coated with PremierArt™ print shield, which seals and protects the artwork from moisture, UV light fade, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, abrasion, and fingerprints.  This ACEO is signed by the artist, includes a signed certificate of authenticity, and is packaged in a plastic sleeve for protection.
