"Like a prize fighter dancing around the ring, this fellow lowers his head, puffs out his chest and struts stiff-legged to let the world know he is the ultimate 'guard rooster'."

ARTIST COMMENT This is one of my earlier pastel paintings. I was very enthusiastic about the potential of pastel. In this painting, I 'punched' the limit of painting a white chicken in an impressionistic setting. My objective was to show the many subtle colors that can be applied and still register as white I used soft pastel on bright white 80# cover paper to get the results I was looking for.
