"The 56 foot long commercial fishing vessel, Sojourn, plys the waters of the Columbia River, near Astoria, Oregon.”

Artist comment:  "One of my favorite subjects to paint in pastel is boats;  whether in the harbor or underway, on the rivers, lakes, or ocean of this marvelous Northwestern United States.  From canoes to huge ocean going freighters, I am utterly fascinated!  Fishing boats are the most recent venture for me.  Astoria/Warrenton, Oregon has a wealth of these craft, so I have a long term project ahead.  Here the Sojourn is depicted heading eastward on the Columbia River at mid-morning.  I sketched her clean lines and began to paint the sky, treeline, and water.  I then completed the body of the boat and finished with the detail of lines, rigging, and nets.”

"Sojourn" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is November 2011.  Image size and substrates vary.   All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.
