"The tugboat 'Halle Foss' is leaving Astoria, Oregon as her journey north to Juneau, Alaska begins.”

Artist comment:  "When I heard that the 'Halle Foss' ocean going tugboat was due to leave Astoria, Oregon for Alaska recently, I was determined to be there to research her.  With binoculars and camera at the ready, my husband and I chose a spot over-looking the Columbia River in Astoria.  We saw pleasure craft and fishing boats.  We watched joggers and stollers along the waterfront.  Finally, with barge in tow, she came into view and it was my delight to see her moving outward bound to the Pacific ocean.  Twilight was beginning to set the sky aglow and that is the mood of my pastel painting on Canson Mi-Teintes paper.”

"North To Juneau" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson.  The edition includes 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs).  Release date is April 2011.  Image size and substrates vary.   All prints are signed and numbered by the artist and include a certificate of authenticity.   Paper prints are shrink wrapped on foam board.   Canvas prints are coated with a protective spray.
