"An 'Old Hudson' car sets at the edge of a hay field, nearly obscured by tall grass. It seems as though it is just waiting for someone to slide in behind the wheel and take it for a spin."
ARTIST COMMENT
"Driving the backroads of northwest Oregon, my husband and I spied this old car along with several others in a field near Banks, Oregon. We stopped and obtained permission to photograph the cars. I was especially intrigued by the way this old Hudson Commodore was setting in the tall grass, forgotten by everyone except time. I used a golden toned paper to heighten the feeling of late summer's warm sunshine. Even the rusty look of the metal seemed to be exuding heat. I painted cool blues in the shadows to contrast all the earth tones. Finally I stroked green onto the sides and windows to show further aging of this once magnificent automobile."
